Role Description

  • As a Non-Financial Risk Officer, you will be pivotal in overseeing and enhancing the company’s Non-Financial Risk (NFR) framework.
  • Your role will involve challenging the business’s management of NFR across a diverse range of risk areas, including Supplier Risk, Operational Risk, IT, Cybersecurity, and Change Management. Reporting to senior management, you will provide critical insights, actionable recommendations, and ensure that the NFR framework remains robust and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Key responsibilities include leading the Second Line oversight of the Supplier Risk Management Framework, ensuring that cloud-based services are managed within the company’s risk appetite, and validating risk assessments and mitigation plans for change initiatives. You will also serve as the subject matter expert for NFR across all locations and functions, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent risk management practices.
  • Additionally, you will play a significant role in the strategic planning and continuous improvement of the company’s NFR governance structures, contributing to the long-term resilience of the organization.

Skills Needed

  • 3-5 years of experience in a second-line non-financial risk assurance role within a UK bank.
  • Deep understanding of various NFR types, including conduct, compliance, cyber, IT, supplier, and operational risks.
  • Proven experience in managing risk in FCA or PRA regulated environments.
  • Expertise in risk assessment methodologies, including Risk Maps and Thematic Reviews.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience presenting to Senior Management and Non-Exec Directors.
