Hiring A Regional Head of Audit for An International Investment Bank
Opportunity
The regional office of an international bank required a Regional Head of Internal Audit who would oversee the audit team covering a number of countries. They wanted a high calibre individual with experience of international banking, yet also familiar with banking business in the Middle East region.
Solution
We were retained by the client, working exclusively with their HR team in London to source a short list of candidates for their senior leadership team in Dubai to consider. We researched the audit teams of international banks in the region and candidates elsewhere in the world who had spent time there in the past to generate a longlist of potential candidates. Each member of the longlist was contacted to establish initial relevance and potential interest. We then engaged with the interested candidates to undertake a full assessment of their experience, skills and competencies and to establish the true level of interest they had in the Regional Head of Audit opportunity. From this work we were able to build a strong shortlist of high calibre appropriately qualified and experienced Heads of Internal Audit that met client’s brief with accompanying candidate profiles, assessments and recommendations.
Outcome
We presented the shortlist to the client which was accepted. We than supported the client and the candidates throughout the internal phase of the recruitment process across the London and Dubai sites ensuring that the process was efficient and timely with clear information flows to keep everybody up to date with developments and progress. A final two candidates were selected for final assessment in Dubai which was completed over a weekend. The preferred candidate was offered, we supported both the client and candidate through the ensuing negotiations and upon acceptance, supported the successful candidate through the visa application and client onboarding processes to ensure a timely completion to the process.
