Commercial Banking Supervision – Associate Director

Join a dynamic supervisory team in the heart of Dubai’s financial district! My client seeks an experienced Associate Director for Banking Supervision to lead and manage a team responsible for licensing and supervising commercial banking entities, including deposit takers and credit providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the authorisation and supervision of banking firms, ensuring compliance with regulations and managing both macro and micro-level risks.
• Lead the development and implementation of operational plans, overseeing supervisory activities such as desk reviews, on-site inspections, and thematic reviews.
• Act as a technical expert on prudential risks and banking regulations, including the Basel III framework.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to shape strategy, manage team performance, and maintain high standards of regulatory supervision.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; advanced degrees and relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in regulatory supervision, with at least 4 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations, risk management, and international standards like those from the Basel Committee.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
