Job Description

Position: Compliance Advisory Specialist – Commodities
Location: London – hybrid
Salary: £110,000–£120,000

Role Overview

We are seeking a Compliance Advisory Specialist to join our team supporting the Commodities and Global Markets business. This role is focused on providing regulatory advice and guidance on FCA and Exchange rules, as well as internal policies, ensuring compliance across the commodities trading desks

This is a pure advisory role, requiring strong expertise in EU/UK regulations, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the confidence to act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Advice: Provide advisory support to the trading floor on regulatory matters related to commodities
  • Policy Support: Assist the business in navigating new products and services while ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring Activities: Conduct desk reviews and thematic reviews to ensure compliance with FCA and Exchange rules.
  • Training: Develop and deliver Compliance training materials for the business and broader teams.
  • Regulatory Updates: Assess the impact of new financial regulations and contribute to updates in internal Compliance policies and procedures.
  • Projects: Participate in ad hoc projects within the regional and global Compliance teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: 4–5 years in a Compliance role, ideally supporting a trading floor within commodities markets.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of EU/UK regulations and experience with commodities markets
  • Stakeholder Management: Comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and acting as the SME for the region.
  • Competencies: Leadership, Client Commitment, Problem Solving, Resilience, Relationship Building, and Detail Focus.
