Compliance Officer (Fintech) – Fluent German

My client is an established European Fintech business who are now expanding their operations across Germany. With an existing office in Frankfurt and expansion to Berlin we are seeking a Compliance Officer to be responsible for Germany and to lead the existing compliance team of 3. This role can be office based, or remote but you must be based in Germany and willing to travel to Frankfurt and Berlin when required.

Duties will include, oversight of the monitoring programme (including Data Protection requirements GDPR, Financial Crime, Fraud, Transaction Monitoring etc), evaluation of current policies and procedures and making improvements, providing advice to the business on regulatory changes, delivering regulatory training, attending industry events and workshops and producing regular reporting for senior management. The role has a dual reporting line to the General Manager in Germany and the Chief Compliance Officer, UK based.

Candidates must be fluent in German and have compliance experience in Financial Services with good knowledge of Data Protection, Financial crime and other relevant legislation that would relate to a Fintech business.  A strategic approach with experience of managing and mentoring junior staff and advising senior stakeholders on regulatory requirements is required.
