Deputy General Counsel

My client is a boutique financial services firm connected to a much larger global entity and looking for a senior lawyer to be their number 2 for their in house legal team.

The role will report to the Head of Legal and work closely with the wider business.

The company is very well known to me and we have placed numerous people with them over the years. They are a brilliant business with lovely people where you will be respected and able to have a great career.

The work is varied and the role will support numerous business lines including fund finance, Repo/securities lending &, FX/money markets.

They are happy to consider people who have more experience across one or two of the areas.

Whist they are open minded on background this is likely to appeal to someone who has been working for a larger bank or similar entity who wants to join a smaller team where they can do really great work, be close to the business and enjoy great work life balance.

They wouldn’t sell themselves as competing with those paying absolute top end compensation but they more than make up for it in work, culture and flexibility.

They aim for 3 days a week in the office but aren’t too strict in its’ implementation.

If you have experience of general fund finance, FX derivatives or GMSLA/GMRA documentation and would like to work in small, nimble team with brilliant people then this would be a great opportunity for you.
