Wealth & Banking Lead Auditor

  • London
  • £85,000

One of my favourite clients which covers all aspects of banking and wealth management (capital markets, investment banking, corporate, private banking, and wealth management) has a position for an experienced auditor.  This person should be able to lead audits and potentially is looking to take on more responsibility maybe in a less bureaucratic environment. The organisation is flat in structure, so growth is organic and depends purely on performance rather than having to wait for others to move on.  Support is given, it is one of the most collegiate audit teams you will find.

I placed the Head of Audit as a junior many years ago and they flourished within the structure to become a Deputy and then the Head of Audit when the existing Head moved internally. I have also placed many of the existing audit team over the course of the last 20 years, so I have a good insight into the business and what they want in an auditor and which candidates are likely to thrive in their environment.

People tend to love working here and stay for a good period. The flat structure gives people a good breadth of exposure and people have moved between business areas within audit or grown into more management focused roles or alternatively moved into the business for example COO or Compliance or Risk roles.

The ideal person for this position will have a broad banking or financial services internal audit background although top candidates with external audit experience could also be considered if they can demonstrate excellent academics, fast career progression and strong interpersonal skills.  Candidates will have a degree of flexibility over which areas of banking they can work on; this depends both on their desires and what is on the audit plan. As well as business audit, and this person will be a business rather than IT auditor, work on ITGCC or applications is encouraged, and support will be given if a candidate wishes to take the CISA accreditation.

The team works closely together as a collegiate unit and this is encouraged by regular social get togethers and annual offsite team building events. There is hybrid working and flexibility on offer.
