Legal market strong in UAE
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) could offer opportunities for those working in the legal profession, according to a new report.
Recent years have seen a downturn in the sector’s activity within the region but new figures suggest that confidence is returning and this could provide attractive prospects for legal professionals, reports the Law Gazette.
In particular, there has been a rise in interest for the Asian market, which is helping to drive demand in the UAE.
Investment and pension funds are performing particularly well as overseas investors look for strong returns.
Andrew Greaves, head of the Dubai office of Addleshaw Goddard, told the Gazette that many firms are likely to look at expanding their presence in the future.
“With the broader investment in hard and social infrastructure planned around the region, and given the success of Dubai in securing the Expo 2020 and the World Cup taking place in Qatar in 2022, coupled with the renewed confidence in the global economy, we see significant growth in real estate, projects and construction,” explained Mr Greaves.
